Sledge Hockey News

Well congratulations goes out to our Team Canada Men's team as they captured gold in overtime to win the World Cup against Norway. At the same time our Under 20 team faced the USA in Buffalo for two exhibition games. Canada won the first game 3-1 and then the second went into overtime but ended in a tie 2-2. Congratulations to both these teams for a great performance. The Junior World Cup will be Easter Weekend so watch the blog for updates on that event.
In local Sledge Hockey news, the Junior Cruisers are still in the playoffs and now play off for the Championship next weekend. Good luck Peter, Isaiah, Renee, Anthony, Jake, Josh and the rest of the team.

Rick Hansen Wheels in Motion

The Rick Hansen Wheels in Motion Event is happening again on June 10th at Chinguacousy park. For those of you who came out last year, we have been asked to do the same things again. For new people.....what we do is go to the park for 1100am. Our Basketball players will be involved in a basketball tournament with teams from corporations. Our younger athletes and encouraged to come and cheer them on as well as participate in the wheeling and other fun activities. I know everyone enjoyed last years event. For those of you who are Cruisers you will have to decide. The Cruisers will be involved with Wheeling in the Mississauga event the same day. I understand completely if you want to attend that event, however I do need to know numbers for Brampton so please let me know ASAP if you will be joining us or not.
Thanks

Back from Venezuela

Wow what a trip. I tried to post a blog when I was there but it didn't happen. We had sun, sun and more sun. It is only 10 degrees north of the equator so very hot but beautiful. We went on a Jeep Safari through the desert which was a hoot and also went on a Catamaran that stopped in the middle of the ocean for us to go for a swim then to a cool beach. Their money was hard to get used to 2400 Bolivares for $1.oo so when you went to buy a T-shirt it could cost you 40,000 Bolivares. The prices are really cheap though and the price of gas was only 3 cents a litre.......really cheap. We were in a smaller hotel that was in the middle of nowhere but there was a little town just a short walk away. Lots of street vendors there making things like paintings, stone carvings and jewelry. Guess you are all suitably jealous now. Hope you are all well. Have a great March Break and see you on the 19th.
